Angiotensin II preferentially constricts the efferent arteriole, which raises glomerular capillary pressure and typically increases or maintains GFR, especially during reduced renal perfusion. At very high concentrations it can lower GFR, but under normal physiological conditions the peptide tends to cause a net increase in GFR.
