Elon Musk's pro-Donald Trump political action committee is claiming James Talarico, the projected Democratic nominee for Texas's open US Senate seat, called for turning the nation's southern border with Mexico into a "front porch" with "a giant welcome mat out front." But the video the PAC shared is deceptively edited, with Talarico's comments abruptly cut to omit the rest of his analogy: that the "porch" should have "a lock on the door."

The quote was correctly attributed to Trump. He also cited "vegan food" and wearing a mask as reasons he considers Talarico "weak."
