Fireman Samuel "Sam" Jones is the title character of the series. He is a senior firefighter for the Pontypandy Fire Service. He is a competent and brave firefighter, who helps keep the people of Pontypandy safe. He considers his job to be 'the best job in the world' and often helps out in emergencies even on his days off.

Limited Social Circle: No-one other than the main characters is ever seen during an ordinary episode, though one of the 1997 tie-in books featured a cameo from an unidentified police constable. WP was the call sign of fire control during the first four seasons of Fireman Sam. It is monitored by a woman whom has never been seen in the series and relays emergencies to the Pontypandy fire fighter whilst they are out on call.

He also stole sausages from his mother's shop to go camping when he wasn't allowed to, and went into the middle of the forest during a hot summer weather, and failing to put it out, it resulted Summer heat to turn the smokes into flames, which nearly brings the end of Pontypandy and made the entire town to leave and let their town in the unbeatable fire, luckily, the rain arrived in no time to take out the fire, but still, so if the police catches him, they will either permanent exile or send him to Welsh court so they can send him to prison without parole until he's released when he's 21 years old, it would make Pontypandy a better place without Norman Price, but still.
