    An analysis of the spread of rumours in a dataset of 330 rumour threads (4842 tweets) before and after their veracity status was resolved showed that false rumours tended to be resolved significantly later than true rumours [10]. Tweets supporting unverified rumours were more widely spread. The denying of unverified rumours (true or false) was low because people did not retweet after the rumour was resolved, so users did not make the same effort to spread debunks of false rumours to let other people know.
