Bourne Ultimatum Trailer Punch Scene Fact Check

The Bourne Ultimatum premiered at ArcLight Hollywood on July 25, 2007, before being theatrically released on August 3 in the United States, by Universal Pictures. It received critical acclaim, grossed $444 million worldwide, and won three Academy Awards. A fourth film, The Bourne Legacy, was released in 2012, without the involvement of Damon or Greengrass.

Violent acts -- shown in chaotic camerawork and editing -- include explosions (preceded by bomb-making), punching, kicking, flipping, leaping, falling, crashing through a window, car-crashing and -screeching, shooting (by snipers and face-to-face), bone-breaking, stabbing.

This directly mirrors the events preceding the first film, where we first see Bourne being rescued from the ocean, having been shot in the back and left for dead by Wombosi and his men. For bonus points, the same music that was used for the first movie's scene is used again. Also, Ultimatum ends with Landy closing off the events of the film in a government committee, in a nigh-identical fashion to how it's done in the first.

This may seem like cheating already, ... in the trailer is worthy of a mention. It's less of a fight and more of a definitive statement. Bourne is back and he still kicks ass....

When The Bourne Legacy didn't attract audiences the same way, a return finally came with Jason Bourne in 2016 for both Greengrass and Damon. What better way to re-introduce audiences to their favorite character than to have him one-punch knock out an opponent in a street-level fighting pit?

And in this supercut from the franchise – which gears up for the arrival of its latest action-packed outing, Jason Bourne – the stealth mercenary pulls no punches. In the clip, which also includes snippets from Bourne Identity, Bourne Supremacy and Bourne Ultimatum, Damon puts his deadly hand-to-hand combat skills on full display, squaring off against all manner of foe hell-bent on sending him to his maker.

This is of course Jason Bourne's fittest adversary yet as played by Joey Ansah, seen here practicing Capoeira moves and other martial arts tricks on the beach. From there we move over to Pinewood studios, where the actual four piece fight scene was photographed over the course of two and a half exhausting days.

In the beginning of Ultimatum, he does not hurt the second Russian officer at all, even to knock him out so he couldn't get to a phone. Then in the scene where he tosses the can of hairspary in to the fire to create a distraction, he pulls the street merchant out of harms way where he could've just knocked him unconscious with one punch.

Very much worth watching, just induced me a bit of a headache with the incessant cuts between fighting scenes left and right up and down, it affected my eyes lol. ...
