Summary
The Android sound‑measurement apps SPL Meter dB and Sound Meter (KTW) were evaluated in a study of ten apps and achieved the highest accuracy (R² = 0.98). Follow‑up testing of 192 sound apps confirmed these and a few iOS counterparts as the most precise. In the AI‑detector arena, Copyleaks showed the strongest performance, correctly identifying all straightforward GPT‑3.5 texts and many GPT‑4 samples.
